Zhang Yue

Zhang Yue is a pair skater. She competes with . Together, they are two-time bronze medalists on the Junior Grand Prix.

Career


The 2007-2008 season was Zhang & Wang's first season skating together. They won two bronze medals on the 2007-2008 Junior Grand Prix circuit and qualified for the 2007 Junior Grand Prix Final. They made their senior Grand Prix debut at the 2007 Cup of China.

Although they placed eighth on the day, they were later moved up a spot to a seventh place finish at the 2007-2008 Junior Grand Prix Final following the retroactive disqualification of first-place-finishers Vera Bazarova & Yuri Larionov due to a positive doping sample from Larionov.

They finished their season at the 2008 World Junior Figure Skating Championships where they helped China earn three pairs spots to the 2009 World Junior Figure Skating Championships.

They have been assigned to the 2008 Skate America Grand Prix competition for the 2008-2009 season.

Zhai Zhigang

Zhai Zhigang is a astronaut and an officer in the People's Liberation Army Air Force. On the 2008 Shenzhou 7 mission, he became the first Chinese national to carry out a spacewalk.

Early career


Zhai was born in Longjiang County, Qiqihar, Heilongjiang province. He enrolled at the People's Liberation Army Air Force Aviation Institute and studied to be a fighter pilot and then as a squadron leader. Zhai became a Lieutenant Colonel and pilot trainer in the PLAAF after logging just 1000 hours of flying time.

CNSA career


In 1996, Zhai was selected to trial for the astronaut program and was selected to be the first group of fourteen in 1998. He was one of three members of the final group to train for the ''Shenzhou 5'' flight. Yang Liwei was picked for the flight, with Zhai Zhigang ranked second ahead of Nie Haisheng. Zhai was one of the six astronauts in the final training for ''Shenzhou 6'' . The ''Ta Kung Pao'' newspaper had reported that Zhai Zhigang and Nie Haisheng were the leading pair, after having been in the final group of three for ''Shenzhou 5''. However, Zhai had been paired with Wu Jie during training. Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng flew the flight.

Zhai, along with and Jing Haipeng were selected for prime crew on ''Shenzhou 7'' , with Zhai as commander, on 17 September 2008. On 25 September 2008, at 21:10 CST, they launched into space as the first three-man crew for China, China's third human spaceflight mission. On 27 September 2008, Zhai became the first Chinese astronaut to spacewalk, completely outside the craft. Fellow crew member stood by at the airlock and could be seen straddling the portal. Zhai successfully completed his spacewalk at 18:25 CST. Zhai wore the Chinese developed Feitian space suit , while Liu wore the Russian derived , translated in Chinese as ''Haiying'' or "Sea Eagle" .

Personal life


Zhai's favourite pastimes are calligraphy, and gadgets. He is married to Zhang Shujing and has one son.

Yang Fang

Yang Fang is a ice dancer. She competes with Gao Chongbo. They are they 2001 & 2003-2005 . Their highest placement at an ISU championship was 6th at the 2004 Four Continents Championships.

Wu Dawei

Wu Dawei is the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

Wu's career has largely taken him back and forth between China and Japan. His first assignment with the was as an attaché to the Chinese embassy in Japan, lasting from 1973 to 1979. He returned to China in 1979 to take a position in the MFA's Department of Asian Affairs, and in 1980 was promoted to deputy office director of the General Office. He went to Japan again in 1985 to serve as second secretary and later first secretary in in the Chinese embassy; after coming back to China in 1989, he continued to work his way up through the ranks of the Department of Asian Affairs. In 1994, he was posted back to Japan as minister counselor. His comments spurred South Korean human rights activists to hold protests at the Chinese embassy in Seoul and circulate a petition urging the United Nations to grant refugee status to North Koreans in China.

Following his time in South Korea, Wu became China's ambassador to Japan, serving from July 2001 until August 2004; he returned to China to take up his post as Vice Minister of Foreign affairs at the end of that assignment.

Wu is married and has one daughter.

Tina Wang

Tina Wang is an Australian figure skater. She is the 2006 . She is a two-time competitor at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. She lives and trains in .

She is coached by her parents, Chang Yuan "Andrew" Wang and Hui "Helen" Ma, who were both National Team coaches in China. Her cousin, Zhang Weina, competed internationally for China in ice dancing.

Song Lun is a figure skater. He is the 2004 and 2002 national bronze medalist. His highest placement at an ISU championship was 7th at the 2005 Four Continents Championships.

Qian Yunlu

Qian Yunlu is a politician and was the Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of Heilongjiang province in northeast China.

Qian Yunlu was born in Hubei province in 1944. He was elected the Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of Heilongjiang by the province's People's Congress on January 27, 2008. He was also the Communist Party chief of Heilongjiang.
